Steven Curtis Chapman's personal blog. Okay, I’m gonna say this right off the bat…I’m gonna fail at this blogging thing. I'm told this is to be Short-n-sweet entries that don’t try to go too deep or try to communitcate too much information. To which I say, “yeah, right!” You see, I don’t do “short-n-sweet”, “not too deep” is not a concept I grasp and “too much information” is my middle name. With all that said, I’m gonna attempt this business of blogging and see what happen.
Sent back from Maria's Big House of Hope in China, Steven announces some of the details of his new project first to you! his video blog friends. BEAUTY WILL RISE is available November 3rd.
The first time I saw you was in Des Moines At women Of Faith You absolutley touched my heart, everybody there touched my heart. I am excited about your new album - and I just want to tell you how much we enjoyed your concert last nite at the State Fair in Des Moines Iowa. Even though the sound in the "grandstand" was NOT good, so it was hard to hear the music, we could certainly hear you talk, as well as Jeremy Camp, and we were very blessed by the evening. Thank you, and God bless you and your family.

Steven,
We were so happy to be able to meet you back stage the other night at the Iowa State Fair. Thanking you in person has been something I've wanted for a long time. Your music has touched so many lives including ours and helped us through the darkest time in our lives when our son was nearly killed in an accident. Don't ever stop singing your songs! God has given you these songs, these words for a reason. Not only to be shared with others but to help support you in YOUR times of need. The concert was GREAT! We hope to see you again sometime.
Take Care,

God bless you and your family Steve! God is definitely walking with and working through you and your family. The evidence of that walk can be seen in the fruit you all have bore.
My family and I have watched with awe as our savior Jesus has walked with you through these last few months and brought you to a place of restless but settled calm.
I feel very blessed to have seen you perform in Indiana while touring with M W Smith. I even felt more touched by the Lord when you were up on stage struggling with the the happens of your life and yet were absolutely acknowledging him for who he was, what he was in the act of doing, and reassurring us that everything you had said and done in your life and music was true about the Lord.
What a testimony! Thank You!
There has been so many situatiuons in my own life where I have seen things that made no sense to me and I have openly questioned the Lord and lost hope yet hung on barely.
What I saw God working in you that night, and now through you, has given me hope and understanding! Thank you for letting him still reign in your life and not letting go of your faith and hope in Him! And most of all thank you for letting us be a part of that struggle!
My family and I will be ever blessed by the Witness and testimony of you and your family!
God Bless!

I just heard "Heaven is the Face" on WRBS 95.1 Shine FM. I cried when I heard it, but know the song is ultimately hopeful. I don't know how you perform that song without breaking down! I am confident this song will be a comfort for anyone who has lost a loved one, particularly a child. As you said on your blog, it's not something anyone would have wanted, but you and your family have chosen to glorify God in the midst of tragedy & be transparent with your pain. Thank you for doing that. It's neat for me to think how you probably won't know the full impact of your ministry until you get to heaven & meet people who saw you on "Larry King Live" or heard your music. With Maria's House, your new album & other things that are happening as a result of tragedy, beauty truly is coming from the ashes.

We're excited about your visit to Pittsburgh in September, and sorry we'll miss the pre-concert dessert session (we'll eat some brownies in the car in your honor!). God bless your tour, the new release in November, your family, and Maria's Big House of Hope. You continue to be a walking testimony to how God works in the life of a believer. Your music will last forever and continue to inspire hearts because the Lord has given you an eternal gift. Thank you for sharing the gift with us! Greg and Marlane Lord, and Bev Hamer

That is wonderful news! I'm so glad you have accepted God's grace and taken the victory that He has already provided, and used it all to move on and do good for others, as well as yourselves. I know in the midst of trial and tragedy it is hard to look up and forward, but I'm so glad to hear that you are closely realizing the truth in Romans 8:28 "For we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His pourpose" What great things you are doing with Maria's house of hope, and this new ablbum, I'm sure will be used by God to bless many!

I just heard you on the radio here in Atlanta singing "Heaven is the Face" and I just wanted to get on here and say thank you. I have been struggling with stuff lately, just stressed with life, a 5 year old, 2 year old, and no time for it all. Hearing this really put things into perspective for me. I literally had to pull over because I couldn't see the road through my tears. Thank you for being obedient and moving forward because you will touch so many peoples lives. 100 times more than the lives you have already helped to change. Thank you.

My heart was touched when I watched you tour Maria's Big House of Hope. There are SO many babies all over the world that need homes. God bless you for all that you are doing.
We are going through an adoption right now, and the further we get into it, the more the love in my heart grows for all these children. We will be truly blessed when we finally get to bring our baby home.
Blessings,

I just saw you guys at the WOF conference in Atlanta, and I have to say that you have helped me tremendously! My husband and I are almost 7 months into the same journey that you have been on...our baby boy, Austin, slipped outside of our home through a door that was accidentally left open and he got into our pond and drowned. The babysitter simply didn't know that the door was open. He had just turned one on Feb 3rd and died on the 18th. It has been devastating. We have 3 older children that were home and saw things that children shouldn't see...not to mention that our oldest feels responsible because he thinks that he left the door open...
When you stepped onto that stage and shared your story, it was as if there were only 3 people in that huge arena...you, me, and the Holy Spirit. You helped me see that my human side will always mourn for Austin but that the greatest day will come when He welcomes me into Heaven! I was sinking into a deep depression and your story helped to raise me out. You and your family are truly an inspiration...DON'T EVER STOP SINGING HIS PRAISES!
I can't wait for your album, I know that it will be a blessing to many, but especially to my family as I am sure that we will understand exactly where you were in your journey as you wrote the songs... Thank you for all you do...may God continue to bless you all!

Dear Steven, I'm so glad to hear how you and your family has been. I've never been to your site before but stumbled upon it from Mary Beth's Twitter. I'm excited about the album but more so that you are so thankful to the Lord! Even after all this - that is a testimony within itself. Remember to stay in the Word daily! Let the Lord keep guiding you and never forgot to witness. We are here for God's glory and I know you probably know that but we all need reminders.
