Steven Curtis Chapman's personal blog. Okay, I’m gonna say this right off the bat…I’m gonna fail at this blogging thing. I'm told this is to be Short-n-sweet entries that don’t try to go too deep or try to communitcate too much information. To which I say, “yeah, right!” You see, I don’t do “short-n-sweet”, “not too deep” is not a concept I grasp and “too much information” is my middle name. With all that said, I’m gonna attempt this business of blogging and see what happen.
Hi Steven,
I wanted to let you know that about a yr. ago one of the teachers in my dance company voiced an interest in having some of our students dance with their dads to your Cinderella song. Then we heard the tragic news of your daughter. I'm so sorry about that. On Feb. 7th, 2009 we will show your story of how Cinderella came about with a dedication to your daughter and also two mom's of our students that also passed away. Twelve dads will be dancing on stage with their daughters to Cinderella. It's going to be awesome. They have been practicing. They will perform twice that day at our 2 recitals which will be held at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM. Thanks for the wonderful song and God bless you and your family. Keep up the great work.

Wow, this is really late. Sorry dude. BUT, a huge happy b-day to ya. I hope it was an awesome one. My 46th is just around the corner (June 30)... man we're gettin' old, huh. We're a long way from our 20's and those Belmont days, but God has been faithful. My prayer is you will see even greater faithfulness from Him in the coming days. Press on bro and keep in touch when you can. Love ya.
P.S. My 2 little Russians are doing great. Had them 7 years.

Steven, I've always been a fan. I can't tell you how much compassion and connection I feel to you and your family. I have an adopted son, and know the connection that only adoptive families truly understand. Regardless of how God brings them to us, they are absolutely our children. I can't begin to imagine the heavy burden you've carried, but I completely understand the amazing love you have for your adopted children.
By the way, I've played the guitar for over thirty years now. It would be a dream of mine to some day sit down a play together with you. I always enjoy your unconventional approach with interesting and unusual chords and other voicings. One album in particular I keep returning to, although I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't recall the name, is your first Christmas album. I find myself getting lost in it year after year, and it's as classic to me as Silent Night.
Thank you for your ministry. Thank you for your committment not only to spreading the good news through your gift of music, but also through your adoption ministry.
With much admiration and respect,
Robert Hafer

Happy Birthday Brother,
You've done it again with Beauty will Rise.
If I know God like I think I do, it would seem coming out of a trial like you have, this would be your best cd in a long time.
Because I know we grow in the valleys, difficult as they may be. God bless you and keep you and your sweet family. Thanks for sharing your ups and downs with us. What a good cd and what a great God.

Happy Belated Birthday Steven. I hope that your special day was filled with much joy and happiness as you and your family deserve it. I think you are an amazing person and you are doing an outstanding job with Show Hope and Congratulations on Maria's Big House.
Also I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed you in concert here in Long Beach, CA with Michael W. Smith back in April. I am always hopeful that you will return to California again soon and come back to our church again in Westlake Village, Calvary Community Church that was an incredible evening as well!
Lastly I love your new album Beauty Will Rise, I am always playing the CD over and over.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so wonderful and having such a loving heart and warm spirit. You are a true inspiration to me as to how God really works. You are on fire.
God Bless you and your family and Happy Holidays to all!!
You and your family are always lifted up in my prayers daily.
Have a great weekend and hope to see you again soon and maybe I will get to meet you. I would love that. Most likely I know not possible.
All My best,
Melinda Kirksey

I called the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Mammal Rescue earlier and got a very helpful woman on the phone who told me that they - along with the city and state wildlife foundations - were aware and had received several pictures. (S)he is a harbor seal, very alert, loves to pose for those cameras, and appears not to be lost – just indulgent and grateful to have found a peaceful sanctuary full of fish! I hope I can see him/her soon.

I think that's great that they both love yogurt! My mom's cat used to eat it when she was a baby, but won't touch it anymore. Our cat never would touch anything except pure meat or seafood, even as a kitten

Well, I don’t know if this rule holds true across the board or not, but it certainly seems to be the case for Bowman & Landes Free Range Turkey Farm in New Carlisle, OH. Recently I drove through two hours of snowy Ohio scenery to meet up with the folks at Bowman & Landes, who gave me the grand tour of their turkey farm.
