Steven Curtis Chapman's personal blog. Okay, I’m gonna say this right off the bat…I’m gonna fail at this blogging thing. I'm told this is to be Short-n-sweet entries that don’t try to go too deep or try to communitcate too much information. To which I say, “yeah, right!” You see, I don’t do “short-n-sweet”, “not too deep” is not a concept I grasp and “too much information” is my middle name. With all that said, I’m gonna attempt this business of blogging and see what happen.
I'm back... or at least I am on the journey back. This is my first video blog post in several months....but the first of many to come. Thanks for your patience!
Steven, glad to see you back. Hope you and Mary Beth had an AWESOME anniversary yesterday. You and your precious family are continually lifted up before the throne. Hope the tour continues to go well!!

Ok I was persistent and finally got it to work. Thank you for that update. So often we hear the major hit of the tragedy, but don't get to watch the healing process. I appreciated your openness to us! H

Steven,
Welcome back to blogland... you have been missed! My prayers continue for all of you. I will see you in just 3 short hours in concert here in Pittsburgh. I remember meeting you last year while you were here and your prayers for me and my family as we grieved the death of my father earlier that morning. I can't wait to see you and Michael on stage together... what a night it's going to be! Well, time to get myself ready for an awesome night of music, praise, and thanksgiving to our Glorious Savior!

Hi. I have never blogged anywhere yet. This is a first for me. Just wanted to ditto all of the positive things everyone has said since Marie's homegoing. I did want to say that I loved the "bread crumbs" regarding Marie's flower drawing. I was not sure if anyone mentioned or not about the color of the petal she colored in. I wanted to see if that had any significance from the bible. In the bible, blue is representative of heaven!!! When I first heard this story or her flower, I thought it is so perfect of God to give us what we need, when we need it. Then, I was so excited to see the significance of the color blue in the bible!!! It should not surprise us how God gives us these bread crumbs in our lives, but it sure does overflow our hearts with hope and excitement. All of our love and continued prayers to each of you today and in the days and years to come. God has truly used you to bless more people than you will ever know and will continue to do so!

My heart skipped a beat when I saw an update from you Steven. I have checked in everyday since May and only to know how to pray for you all. Welcome back and God Bless you for sharing this journey with all of us. We love you and your family and you will probably never know this side of heaven all of the ways that you, your family and your music have changed our lives and encouraged us in our desperate and low times. I hope the road is treating you and the gang well. The show is not coming near us, but I will pray that it touches many lives for Christ and that it brings more healing to your soul. God Bless!

Welcome back Mr. C... we've missed you and our hearts have truly long for understanding during your absence! Funny I was praying for the rapture just a few hours ago, before I had to take a foundations of the Bible test at the university! Obviously He didn't meet that prayer! (smile) I know our reasons are different but the end result is the same! And you're right we have a LOT of work to do until then!

So, so, so good to hear from and see you again. Jim has been great to keep us in touch with the Chapman family. I am glad you and the family were able to read all the caring replies.
Just a month ago, our house (but not our home)here in Texas was hit hard by Ike. As I wandered through the house in predawn hours with water dripping and bedroom ceilings falling in, I kept repeating "Its Yours, God. It's all yours." He kept our family safe, and was gracious to let us continue to be stewards of so much of our "stuff", and we have felt His love more than I ever imagined. Thank you for giving me the words I needed for that moment.
Again, so great to have you back on your blog.

P.S. The facial hair makes you look like a theologian. =)

Welcome back - I've missed your video blogs. I've followed them from the beginning. I always enjoyed seeing the new ones up, and getting to "know" you and the girls. We've prayed for you all continuously. We'll not get to see you and MWS as the United Tour is not coming anywhere near us, but were blessed to see you in Euless in July. What an amazing evening that was. I hope it's true that our prayers have helped and I hope you all know how the amazing testimony of all your family has changed us. We've loved you and your music for a long,(long, long,...) time, but we've come to love you and the family in a deeper way by having shared (in a very small way with our prayers) this journey you continue to travel. Thank you for allowing Jim and Grace to give us little glimpses of life as they really did remind us to pray and help us be more specific in our prayers for you all. You are all loved very much and prayed for always. (And I obviously ramble too.)

As the others have said...what a pleasure to have you back. I can't tell you how loved you guys are and how much we have hurt for you. I know it's nothing compared to what you guys live with daily, but know that your pain and loss will never be unrecognized. Man, I so wish that God would have accomplished what He's up to in a way that didn't involve Maria's loss. I'm so sorry. Thank you for reminding us all that everything is God's...we belong to Him...and that there's hope in the cross and an eternity free of this messy, painful earth.
Praying On,
