Well, we had quite the night out in Roseville! It was a beautiful day, shaping up to be an excellent concert, with folks lining up hours before the show to get a good seat. And then the rain and lightning struck, and the electricity started to flicker, and then it went off and on, off and on, then, finally, off completely. There we were, sitting with the backup lighting, waiting and wondering what would happen.
However, Roseville, you showed your stuff, and Bethany Dillon came out and led us all in worship. It was really a special time, "once in a lifetime opportunity." The crew did an amazing job in the clutch, using the bus generators to power a mic and amp so eventually Bethany had some amplification.
Then Sanctus played an acoustic set, and Matt Hammet blew us all away on "The Face of Love", holding out the final note longer than any thought was possible. The band was apparently slowing the song down, but Matt's voice held true and received a standing ovation.
So somebody had a friend who owned a generator store, and they were able to bring a down a generator and hook it up, so by the time Steven was on stage, we had enough power to run the whole show just like normal!
And in the midst of all the craziness, together you raised over $3,700! Thank you for your generosity and your willingness to change the life of an orphan. Here are some shots pre-show, while everyone was unaware of what was in store...
