Wichita Blows Us Away!

Img045Wichita! What an amazing display of generosity! You have jumped ahead way ahead of all the cities so far and have far surpassed even our greatest expectations by together donating over $7,700!

This will not only allow us to give the grant to the deserving family you met tonight who is from your area, but we will be able to give multiple grants to help change the lives of multiple orphans all over the world.  You have made a significant impact and have truly responded to God's heart for orphans.

Thanks again to all our volunteers who helped to bring in your generous donations and get them sorted and counted. We were very, very encouraged to have been to your lovely city, and we are honored to have been able to be a part of your story as your community continues to care for orphans in their distress, thus practicing true and pure religion. All praise goes to the God who is able to do above and beyond all we could ask or imagine!

Wichita, Check You Out

Here are some snapshots of Wichitonians Showing Hope (that first family looks an awful lot like the family you guys helped in their adoption...):

Kansas City Helps Sisters

Img_9986Kansas City, thanks to your generosity, you are not helping to change the life of only one orphan, but two! This wonderful family in your area will be adopting sisters from Guatemala, and you have played a part in helping to bring them home to their forever family.

Thanks for being a part of the miracle of adoption and a picture of our loving God's faithfulness and provision.  Check out some others interested in showing hope in Kansas City !

Change in Tulsa

Img041Tulsa, thanks for a great night! Together you raised over $3,600 to change the life of an orphan.  Thanks also to our friends from Battle Creek Church who brought out the red Adopt(ed) shirts that drew so much attention.

Specifically, Tulsa, you guys have made it into our record books as having donated the largest amount of change thus far!  You guys gave over $580 in coins, which far surpasses the coinage we received from any one city up till now.  Thanks to our volunteers (three of whom are shown here to give you an idea of what $500 in coins looks like) and all those who gave. May God continue to bless each of you for your generosity.

Dallas Takes an Early Lead!

Img_9883Everything is bigger in Texas, right?  Well, you guys blew us away by together donating over $5,500!  (Actually, once all the totals were in for the night, you raised over $6,100!). Not only did you help enable a family in your community to give a loving home to an orphan, you also will allow us to help yet another family through your generosity! We keep talking about changing the life of an orphan, well, you guys were so generous that you are changing the life of more than one orphan. Now, the rest of you cities out there, are you gonna let them beat you?

Thanks again to all our volunteers, both in Dallas and at all the other cities. Without you, we wouldn't be able to have such an amazing impact in the lives of so many waiting children! Thanks for holding buckets, manning tables, and joining in the counting parties like this one. Praise God for His goodness and faithfulness.

Toledo Shows Hope

Toledo_girlsToledo! Thank you for your generosity and amazing hearts for orphans. Together you raised over $2,200 to help change the life of an orphan!

Granted, it wasn't fair that we were using such cute volunteers such as these. These two sisters were adopted from Ethiopia, and very few were able to pass by their cries of "Donations please!" without being moved to give. Praise God for His faithfulness in allowing us to join Him as He cares for the orphans and the fatherless!

Evansville's Show Hope Family

Evansville_familyEvansville! Together you raised over $2,100 through the Change for Orphans campaign, and $2,000 of that was matched by our anonymous donor (who will be matching the gifts each night of the tour up to $2,000), so we were able to give this family in your area an adoption grant for $4,000!

Thank you for helping to change the life of an orphan tonight! As they say, "It takes a village to raise a child", and we hope and pray that your community can continue to come around this family and all those caring for orphans, as well as the waiting orphans right there in the Evansville area.

Show Hope Chicago

Chicago_girlWell, Chicago, right off the bat you guys showed us how Showing Hope is done! You guys took the early lead by raising over $4,000 to change the life of an orphan!

We had a great night together full of energy and excitement, and we know the little volunteer girls like this one helped to bring home to reality of adoption.

Special Grand Rapids Donor

Img_9462smCheck out this donation made on the very first night of our tour. It was a huge inspiration to all of us, and a real reminder of God's heart.

This little girl named Ashlyn brought in this bag of change she collected. She was an orphan in Kazakhstan and was adopted two and a half years ago. She wrote "I saved change for the others left behind me... God is an awesome God!"  True.

Kicking Off the Tour Right in Grand Rapids!

Grand_rapics_bucketCongratulations Grand Rapids! You guys totally blew us away with your generosity and willingness to change the life of an orphan.  Together, you raised over $3,300!

It was an awesome night, thanks to our volunteers and everyone who helped us start off this tour right. The Change for Orphans campaign was a smashing success, and you can see our Executive Director needed help to even lift the bucket that held all your donations.

Because of your help, another orphan will have a forever family. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and goodness, and thank you for being a part of this special night.

SCC Tour Shows Hope

Who are these people and what is that sign????

What is Show Hope?

Img_4839As many of you may know, Shaohannah’s Hope is a non-profit started by Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman that gives grants to families who are adopting and engages the church to care for orphans. As we join SCC on tour, we want to empower people to go out and engage their own communities to care for orphans, and we’re calling this campaign “Show Hope”.  This comes from Hebrews 11:1, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” So a life of faith is then taking the hope that you have and evidencing or substantiating it—showing the hope you have to a broken and needy world.

We wanted to give people at the concert a taste of what that could look like, so we’re inviting them to join us in changing the life of an orphan each night through the “Change for Orphans” campaign.  We’re collecting change/bills/donations throughout the night from those who collected change beforehand or those willing to donate, and at the end of the night we’ll tell them how how we changed the life of an orphan together. In fact, each night we will be giving a grant to a family in the community as a result of the donations people give there at the concert, so each tour night the entire concert will be able to participate in helping a family in their community to go out and give an orphan a loving forever family! Now is that cool or what?

But we don’t want it to end there.  We are offering a free Show Hope packet for people to pick up so they can go out into their own community, church, youth group, or campus and change their world for orphans. The packet includes 30 daily readings on showing hope to orphans, a menu of ways to get involved, a wristband, and a DVD.

We're excited to see what God does with this; we know these waiting children are very close to His heart. We hope to see you join us at the city nearest you, and we need your help!  Spread the word about this concert and convince your friends, family, neighbors, and anyone else to collect change for orphans and come out to the concert.  You can be our "street team" and change your world for orphans!
