Steven and family are back from vacation and settling in with some yummy chocolate chip pancakes...and now it is time to clean up! So, not only time for dishes...but the dishwashing song! Make sure to watch to the very end for "How not to dive into a pool" segment
That is classic! It reminds me a lot of my dad's family: they used to sing in 4 and 5 part harmony while washing dishes (there are a lot of dishes with 9 kids and it takes a while with no dishwasher - they had to do something to stay sane!) and they had their "dishwashing songs" and their parodies of their dishwashing songs which they still sing while washing up...it's great seeing that we're not the only crazy ones! Glad y'all are back safe and sound. Love that little belly flop at the end! Hope your vacation was as fun as it looked!

I can't get the video to play either. I tried Firefox and Safari. I even tried going straight to www.youtube.com and that doesn't seem to want to work either. :(

If only dishwashing were so enjoyable at our house ... but I do have my own lovely little helper who would probably have loads of fun with Maria!

YAY!! we got to see the vid! my kids thought it was awesome. i wished the dishwashing song was around when i was a kid doing dishes with my siblings... altho, as it goes with siblings we still would have fun. we would cram 15 min of dishwashing into a good solid hour. this would normally include setting up a cd player os something of that sort to perform on our own while "doing dishes". yes, that's where all the "wasted" time went. couldnt ever figure out how it took so long back then. but we do now. it still takes us forever to do dishes together, even tho we're all grown up :) i love my siblings. thanks for this video. brought back some happy, silly, goofy memories of dishwashing times with my siblings.
this was a classic. my kids, at least the oldest is finally old enough to start helping with dishes. i'm sure we'll have some good dishwashing times. altho, i'm sure she'll request watching the vlog while we do ;) i guess that'll be ok. hehehe. LOVE THIS STUFF!!

Again - love it! I think you should make a CD with songs aimed at helping the kids do things around the house! Put the dishwashing song on there, maybe a making the bed, and a foldin laundry one too. :) I'd buy it!

Haha! I love the dishwashing song! That was adorable. =)
I hope you had a great time in Florida!

Stinkin' adorable and a good explanation for why I've never actually had "fun" washing--or drying--the dishes! I DIDN'T SING while I was doing either (which WAS probably fun or at least a blessing for anyone within listening distance! :) ).
I had to wince on the "dives" at the end...Oh, how I remember a few of my own (a thousand years ago) and watching my own babies "learn" to do the same.
Thought I'd pass along a link with some FABULOUS pictures from your Chattanooga concert...Really, truly, I'm amazed at how good they turned out (NOT because of y'all, because of the amateur photographer behind the lens).

Does Mary Beth know you are stalling washing the dishes by playing around on the guitar in the kitchen?? ;) just kidding. :)
They are really cute, and they know it too. Better watch out! They're gonna use it against you! :)
Thanks for posting from home!! :)

Mr. Chapman,
That is SOOOOO cute! I wish washing my dishes was as fun as it looked at you house. I REALLY enjoyed the song and the 'dive' at the end was great.
