The many faces of Uncle Dave...(Happy Dave)

I thought you might be interested in knowing about the "man-behind-the- scenes-on-the-road-who-makes-it-all-happen"..(quite a title huh?)...the music world knows him as David Trask, road manager extraordinaire, my band knows him (and fears him) simply as "Trask"...(few things strike terror in the hearts of those who ride our tour bus like the looming possbility of...dare I say it...being "TRASKED"), and our family knows him and loves him as "Uncle Dave". The long list of his jobs on the road (all of which he performs with great skill and expertise) include things like getting us all where we need to be on time, checking our touring entourage into hotels, reminding Willy Frank to pick up his dirty socks off the bus floor, making a perfectly meaasured and brewed cup of "Starbucks" on the bus in the morning, handling all the "official business...financial and otherwise" at the concerts, making sure I don't eat ALL the cookies and ice cream by myself that makes it's way onto our bus (one of the toughest parts of his job, he says) and praying with me, encouraging me and just generally being a great brother and friend!...a great "armor bearer" like Jonathan was to King David. I'm gonna do a little series of posts so you can see just some of the many faces of "Uncle Dave". I call this one "Happy Dave".

Flyin' to Feenix (or is that phlyin' to Phoenix)

Howdy to all my blog phriends! I'm sitting in seat 9A on my way to Arizona for a concert tonight and thought I'd "holler at ya" (as we say in the south.) It's been a crazy week finally getting "This Moment" officially released, lots o' interviews and even a live video chat on GodTube..thanks to you who tuned in for that! Well now is the time when I need all of you to call everyone you know (in fact, you don't even have to know them), stop people randomly on the street, write your Congressman, send smoke signals to neighboring villages, and any other ideas you may come up with to announce: "You absolutely must get the new CD from SCC"! Naw, just kiddin'...kind of...but seriously I have been so encouraged by the great response to the new music so "Thank You!" for that and I do appreciate you all helping me get the word out. Hope your day is a great one. Remember, breathe it in & breathe it out... don't forget to look for the miracle in this moment!......................... phriends phorever, scc

It's NOT "Frou Frou" Coffee

Here's the man who labeled me a frou frou (pronounced fru fru) coffee drinker, Grant! He's the "he-man radio guy" at my record label.
But seriously, if you're a consumer o' caffeine ya gotta love the fall drink options at the little green coffee shop (yes, I do occasionally visit "the bucks" even though the don't sell my music...yet) the pumkin spice latte just screams "Fall" don't ya think. . okay enough deep thoughts for now...Back to interviews.

New is Relative

So I'm in the middle of doing radio interviews this morning for my new album, THIS MOMENT. I'm up early working hard.  And then out of nowhere Jim, from my management, starts reprimanding me for not having any new blogs lately.  It's my belief that new is a relative term. I explain to him for example, if you buy a new car in August, when my last blog was, that would still be considered new.  And beef jerky bought in August is extremely fresh and new if purchased in August.

Ok, so I'm sorry. No blogs since August. But hey, blogs are imperishable. And anyway what would I blog about? Between Mary Beth, Grace and Jim's blogs everything is covered.

I am very, very excited for you to hear this new album. It's finally out! I'm thankful for this chance to share with you what God's given me to share.
