Below are some of the pictures from Maria's Big House of Hope. 1: The whole gang... 2: Theo and a nanny... 3: Tanner, Me and Emily... 4: Emily and a cleft palate baby... 5: The Hall's plus Mary Beth in the entrance... 6: Mikey, who works for Show Hope, and one of his little friends waiting for palate surgery.
I had hoped that this trip would work out, but wasn't quite sure when our friends, Mark and Melanie Hall, would get the final word to travel to China for their little girl! Well, the call came and I went for it. David Trask (Steven's road manager and Show Hope Relations guy) and I traveled here to China on what was supposed to be Thursday, but ended up after delays, here on Friday. The Hall family arrived about an hour behind us, and it has been go, go, go, ever since. We slept, got up, and flew to Maria's Big House of Hope today! They have been such great support and always wanted to visit when they came for their daughter. We had a blast! We spent a few hours wondering the halls and playing with the children. Maria's Big house has babies/toddlers in every room now. We are so excited that next month a surgical team will come to operate on many cleft lip and palate children. It is always so much fun to watch others taste and SEE that the Lord is good and at work at MBHOH. Of course I had to take the opportunity to take one picture (or 2) of the Hall's in their Show Hope wear! Look for them on the show hope blog as well! I'm so grateful to them for their encouragement of us! Enjoy the pictures, tomorrow we fly to Nanjing to get ready for the arrival of their little girl. As for the surprise...Emily and Tanner are here from Ireland on a 6 week placement from the bible college. All the students go serve somewhere and MBHOH is where Em and Tan landed. They will begin a pre-school program at MBHOH, or at least start to get it organized and ready! pray for them as they have many decisions to wade through about next year! You should have seen their faces when they saw me! Priceless. It was a grand surprise... and quite frankly, I'm shocked I pulled it off. I didn't tell many people as I was afraid it would spread to our friend the internet, then it would have been ruined! So, mum was the word for a bit, but now...We are here and I'll check back in a day or two.
Hugs,
Mary Beth

hey mary,
I'm #1 fan of u. Will today fill upon a Beautiful song, Its song that ur Husband wrote One Heartbeat At A Time. Here the lyrics u can look at, i know u see alot but I just want u to know that I love the way you go the extra mile. You're up all night with a screaming baby
You run all day at the speed of life
And every day you feel a little bit less
Like the beautiful woman you are
So you fall into bed when you run out of hours
And you wonder if anything worth doing got done
Oh, maybe you just don't know
Or maybe you've forgotten
You, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh, you, you may not see it now
But I believe that time will tell
How you, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
With every "I know you can do it"
Every tear that you kiss away
So many little things that seem to go unnoticed
They're just like the drops of rain over time
They become a river
And you, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh, you, you may not see it now
But I believe that time will tell
How you, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
How you're changing the world
You're changing the world
You, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh, you, you may not see it now
But I believe that time will tell
How you, you are changing the world
Oh, I believe that you
You are changing the world
One little heartbeat
At a time
And you're changing the world. that is so u, keep on shining and smiling:) U have an amazing guy in ur life that is amazing to me cause most famous people don't see the need of there wife who is just an ordinary girl like me and u.

Just for today I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.

What an Awesome Journey! It makes me long for the day when it is our turn to travel to bring our little girl home from China. My Husband and I are in the process of adopting a little girl through the China Child of Promise program. I love the pic of Emily holding the baby girl with the cleft palate and it makes me think about that baby girl could be ours.
I am so Thankful for you and your Family for what y'all have done to help people like us bring home our baby girl! Y'all are truly a blessing. We would love to be able to visit Maria's Big House when we are in China to meet our Baby girl!
God Bless you and your Family!

Amazing! What a great opportunity to visit China and MBHOH. If given the opportunity and financial means, I would love to visit both.
What a great surprise you were able to pull off for Emily and Tanner! The pics are some hard-core evidence that you all are having a wonderful time together.
I pray that God will continually touch in the ministry at MBHOH, like He already has.
Prayers for wonderous moments during your visit,

I was just praying for Emily and tanner about 15 minutes ago - that they would gain a clear picture of what they are supposed to do next year. David, you are a heck of a secret keeper:).
Mary Beth, enjoy every moment with them. We'll be praying for you all. I hope you had a camera to capture the moment that they first saw you.
Rondevu in China - sounds like my kind of life. And you have icing on the cake with seeing Hope unite with her forever family. WOW!

What a nice surprise for Emily & Tanner! I was just reading on my FB page that you were in your homestate of O H I O, and here you are in China! It must be great to see all of God's special children again. I'd be in Heaven there. And I would probably get very attached to the children there, just as I do to the special children I work with here.
God Bless and enjoy your time with Emily and Tanner.

You are in China ?!? What an awesome surprise! This blesses my soul to the core! We were at the Summit in MN and it was so wonderful to hear you speak! I went over to your FB but you are one popular lady and already have "too many friends" LOL! Your fan page lead me to this update and what a blessing to read you are back and w/ friends who are adopting! My husband and I desire to adopt through the SP. Needs program. It is so encouraging to hear of God's glory and works through MBHOH. I really needed to hear this today! It has made my day :)

What great pictures and a fun surprise. Glad to hear we'll have you back in Nanjing after 2 years. If you get this in time we'd love to have you at the Nanjing Intl. Christian Fellowship for Sunday worship. We meet at the Ramada Hotel at 45 Zhong Shan Bei Lu at 9:30am. There are only about 400 people or so in the group right now, but Jesus is the focus of these people from 30+ nations.
Also, I'd be happy to help you and the Halls any way I can while you are in town if you need anything.

When I saw your tweet that you were headed off to MBHOH I thought "Wow, I'm surprised MB didn't mention that she was going"...not that you ever need to tell your blog friends everything.
