Dad was out of town so Caleb & Will played Cinderella at the BMI Christian Songwriters Awards. Cinderella and Yours won song awards each, and then Steven received BMI songwriter of the year, which was actually a 4 way tie. Which is great. 4 times the love! Word on the street was that the boys did a great job and impressed some industry folk. But, that doesn't surprise me. They are two of the most talented young men I've seen. Caleb's guitar pickin and Will's drummin are skills well practice. They had a pretty tough mentor! They are personable and hilarious...with manners to boot! Can you tell a mom is writing this or what? At any rate, I love Caleb's voice, and the songs that he writes rival another man I know in this family, but in a new fresh way...but the most amazing thing about Caleb and Will....They will be upset that I wrote this about them! They are humble and gracious and hardworking. They are excellent son's, brother's and one of them is even a great husband! I am blessed that God gave them to me to raise! You blink your eyes and it goes from your husband being the young blond singer/songwriter, to your son. I always tell people though, that it took two boys to make one of Steven. Caleb, as they (Caleb and Will) are known make a dynamic duo. I can't wait to SEE how God uses them and their story. To God Alone Be Praised for to Godly young men who long to follow Christ and make a difference in the lives of others.

They only prefer people with marginal or good credits. Therefore, instead of going to such institutions, you need to search for money lenders.

Mary Beth,
Just saw your sweet boys at Greensboro, NC on Saturday night. They were wonderful! My husband and I were remembering the many times we have seen SCC in concert. We remembered him talking about the boys from the time they were little. What a blessing it was to see them all grown up and serving God with their talents. Caleb is an amazing songwriter, we commented that the acorn did not fall far from the tree in that respect. They both are great musicians as well. I couldn't help but think of how much they both have been through in their short lives and how it is just like God to use such pain for His glory if we will just allow Him to live through us. Oh, how I could see your boys doing just that on Saturday. I know you are proud of them, I was proud of them for you. I know that sounds a little odd, but that's how I felt.
I used to say I'd like to write you a letter thanking you for sharing your husband with the rest of the world. I know it must have meant sacrifices on your part many times through the years. Let me say thank you now for sharing your husband AND your sons. What great gifts they all have to touch us and, most importantly, to turn our hearts to God. I hope the Chapmans are writing and playing music forever.
BTW, can't wait to read your book!
Love to you all,
Sheila

Dear MaryBeth,
I had the privilege of meeting your wonderful sons in Birmingham. Everything you say about them is true and more. What fine godly young men! They are such good examples of how you can enjoy life and yet maintain a godly lifestyle. They are definatly "cool" for the younger crowd. But those of us who are older see the excellent parenting that went into these young men. Their love for the Lord is very evident in them. They have pure qualities and I know you and Steven are so proud of all of your beautiful children. Also got a chance to meet Julia. What a wonderful young woman with such a godly heart. Also, had the opportunity to visit for a bit with Jim. You have surrounded your family with people who love God and obviously have a great influence on your children. I look so forward to seeing and hopefully meeting you in Duluth, GA. in September. I look forward with great anticipation to reading your book. I also have an adoption story that I want to share with you and seek both your prayers and advice about. Your advice would mean so much. I hold Steven and you and your family in high esteem, at the same time realizing that you are people just like us, struggling with circumstances from time to time, but always looking to Father for your guide and anchor. May God continue to bless you and yours.
In Him,
Karen Dewhirst

You have every reason to be proud and boast about your sons. God bless them, you and Steven. God is showing the rest of us that faithfully raising your kids pays off with wonderful, respectable and faithful young adults. Thanks for allowing Him to work in you.

Well written, Mom. Just the other day I was looking at the album cover of The Great Adventure, and I thought, "Wow, Caleb looks like his Dad." But, I am amazed at Will Franklin as well; his positive character is a clear reflection of God's grace that gives young people everywhere hope for their own tomorrow.
Every day I pray for my boys "to become Christ-like men who follow the path of righteousness for His name's sake." But, I also pray for their wives "to be Christ-like ladies who are Proverbs 31 women that love, adore, and are faithful to their Lord and husbands." Not too picky, right? I just want their lives to be as fulfilled as mine and their dad's is. I want wholesome Christian lives and homes for them, filled with lots of laughter, love, loyalty, and success. What a great combination, but they can only get these from God; I trust in Him for that fulfillment in their lives and for us to never hinder them.
Thanks for sharing the great success of SCC, Caleb, and Will. I am praying for you all, and that the boys' music careers will always be centered around Christ, just as their dad's has been.
