To all of my faithful followers. I have so very much to catch you up on and a lot to share, however...I definitely wanted to share my excitement and of course my PROUD mom emotion upon hearing the following words written about CALEB (the name Caleb and Will Franklin are using for their band name). The following is a forward that I received after the boys opened for Amy Grant in Florida on January 21st. I just had to share a couple of pics with you and let you read what someone is saying about my boys!!!!! Please pray for them as it appears that their career in music has begun! They start the Casting Crowns tour on February 4 and will be doing 40 plus shows with them. Pray God's protection as they begin to steward their story and their experiences well. I believe in them, and I know that they will use their platform to make much of the ONE who saw fit to bless them with their talent. Now as they begin to give to others, may many come to know the Giver of life, and the One who holds my Maria...
Here are the words that were written
Last night Caleb opened for Amy Grant in Orlando, FL. While the band was playing, the radio programmer for Z 88.3 in Orlando, a key reporting station, posted this to a radio program director e-mail forum read by our industry’s key radio professionals
Subject: The future of Christian musicI am sitting here in a church in Orlando FL watching the future of Christian music. CALEB (the band name Caleb & Will Franklin Chapman use for their new group)... is fresh, edgy, modern, cool and all the same powerful.
Their song WAIT is as good (maybe better) than most of the songs on the radio now. Remember the name. CALEB looks like his dad, but is doing his own thing.

Hi Mary Beth,
I'm glad to hear that Caleb & Will Franklin are doing so well. I'm sure you & SCC are very proud of them. Of course, they had a good teacher!

Mary Beth, I will have to chime in on the "PROUD MOM" also. My name is Lisa and I'm Scott's mom (the electric guitar) in the band, CALEB. I would like to thank you and SCC so much for the kindness and hospitality that your family has offered Scott in the weeks leading up to their concert in Orlando. God has been grooming Scott spiritually for a time such as this this his whole life. I'm so thankful that he has been offered an opportunity to make it happen. I pray for a hedge of protection for the boys constantly and will continue to pray for your whole family. Sincerely!!

I am the mother of one of the climbers on
Mt Hood that stepped into heaven in December 2009. I am trying to walk this difficult path and would love to connect with another mother who has lost a child, esp. an adult one. Some days I cannot see thru the tears to put one foot in front of another. These days I just hold the Lord's hand tight and move forward.

That is AWESOME, what a great experience for them, your family and others....My family and I will be prayig for them as they perform with Casting Crowns..lol

Amazing! They certainly are great examples for young people today. I'm a public school teacher, and young people who live in today's world need to be able to connect to the music they love with the message that should be embraced and worshipped to; without this offering from Christian artists and bands like your boys', young people are forced to listen to the music they love and the horrific words that come along with them. As a mother, it is a great joy for me to see such big smiles on your boys' faces, especially Will Franklin's; I have said many prayers for him, as I know many others have as well, and I praise God that he is on the other side of the valley. Glory to God!
Many prayers for your boys as they embark on this "great adventure",
Michele

Praise God...will continue to pray for them--and hope they stop in the DC area. :) In the meantime, I'm praying that the Lord is meeting you in the book-writing process.
Blessings to you,
Nadia

We saw the "boys" perform with their dad at Northland in 2009 and have continued to follow them. As new Christians back in the day we also only listened to their "dad" and still love him the most LOL. Keep up the great music all you Chapmans....

I really like their music! I didn't get to go to the show, but many of us here in Orlando love the Z!!

That is so wonderful! It's neat to see how God is involving them
in his plan to reach the world with his love. :-) As proverbs says "Train up a child in the way he should go ( according to his natural bent) and when he his old he will not turn from it." You have had a major part in their training and in encouraging their passions and dreams and love for God! I think this proud mom moment is a testimony to that and I am looking forward to hearing about many more to come. :-)
