Mary Beth, you are a blessing. Our family has celebrated with yours through the years, and our hearts broke with yours last year. We pray for the Chapmans. I had the pleasure of driving Steven to the mall last year in Jonesboro, AR on Feb 11th, so that he could buy Valentine's Day gifts for you and the girls, and as tired and road-weary as I sensed he was, he was a complete blessing, too. We talked about your family, and he asked about mine. I told him what an impact he's had on my life, and he signed an old video for me (Front Row), and loved re-living the mullet and silk shirt. He also threw in a song for me during the e-mail request segment, "For Who He Really Is", which I told him was the first song I learned to play, using that video as a guide. It's comforting to know about 9 days later, Feb 20th, and we still grieve with you about Maria Sue going to heaven before you. Happy Birthday to you, and know that Maria sang to you, too. Thank you for allowing your family to be shared with us over the years, 11-6-64 is one of my favorites, and We Will Dance is "our song", along with the one I sang at our wedding, "I Will Be Here". It's our 14th Anniversary today, so we'll celebrate, and probably dance, too. Take care of the girls, and Steven, and thank you for Beauty Will Rise...I know it was a family effort, wrestling, coping, questioning, and ultimately trusting. May our Savior continue to comfort and protect you.

I've never commented before, but I always wondered if when I sang "Eleven six sixty four" on my little shuffle everyday, I was singing about your birthday. I guess I am! :) I bet he did laugh and play harder on that day! I just LOVE that song! Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday Mary Beth!!! You are an amazing women of God!!!! I love your heart for the orphan! You are a GREAT Mom!!!! I will have to say that you always look so great too! I tried to get my haircut just like yours. Well it turned out nothing like yours but I tried. I have been praying for your family alot too. Our son Noah went to Heaven coming up on Nov.22 --6 years ago.
Hope that you had a very Happy Birthday! We love you and your family! It's funny becuase I had a dream that we were your next door neighbors and I was so excited. I woke up and it was just a dream. I was disappointed. Nuts.
Well maybe in Heaven we'll be neighbors. We have adopted two kids. Samuel from China and Esther Rose from Guatemala. Now I can't get Africa and the kids there off of my heart. So I keep praying that if God leads in my husbands heart and provides than we will adopt again! There are kids in Sierra Leone who so desperatly need help and freedom from the abusive situation that they are in. Here is the blog in case you want to read more.

Mary Beth - I just want to say that I hope you had a wonderful birthday. I was in Greensboro, WOF, this weekend and was blessed with your husband's messages through words and music. My husband and I have two adopted children who bless our lives each day. My prayers are with you and your family in the loss of your daughter. God's strength will be greatest when we are weakest and will continue to carry you through this journey.

Mrs. Chapman - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope it was a great day. Thank you for your encouraging blog posts! By the way, Beauty Will Rise is AMAZING - I think it reflects Lamentations 3:21-23 very well:
"This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. 'The Lord is my portion,' says my soul, 'therefore I hope in Him.'"
I am praying for you and your family. Love you all! - Maria
