Can you say jet lag? It is 2:10 am and I can't sleep...getting ready to go try! I have sooooo many pictures I want to blog, but since I had a bit of a 2nd wind...I thought it would be good to go ahead and at least post a big Thank You Blog to all of Team 2! For those of you who went, you know who you are... I just wanted to publicly say Thanks from myself and from SHOW HOPE for coming to China and for loving on the least of the least! I totally intend on posting what we actually did to beautify MBHOH, but for now, and most importantly....I wanted to say Thanks for the most important part, and that's for coming with me to a place I love dearly, and for partnering with Show Hope to help bring dignity to these little people. As always....It's more about what these little broken people do for us than it is what we can do for them....but you were a huge part of loving these Orphans by being hands and feet. Whether it was painting, cleaning, loving, washing.....you name it, you all did it....with hands wide open so that your heart could be open and vulnerable. I love you all, and again wanted to at least tell you that as I sit here in the middle of the night jet-lagged....I am remembering you and thanking God for each and every one of you! Blessings as you re-enter into American culture! Mine's been pretty brutal so far....Don't really want to deal with things that don't matter....But then, who will? I continue to stay perplexed as to what and where God is calling me. Flexible at this point is probably good, but I sure hated leaving China this time!
Love to all and good night (I hope) hugs,
Mary Beth

I'm in awe, state of how awesome the work of God you guys are doing.Hope you were able to get rested up.Thanks for those awesome photos on here.

I noticed a picture of Shoey with a little girl in the pink outfit, and I was wondering-are the little girl's hip, knee, and ankle joints tight and out of place so she is unable to walk? Our daughter was born with a condition known as arthrogryposis in her arms, which often also affects the legs. If she does have arthrogryposis in her legs, there is so much hope for her with the right treatment.

Dear Mary Beth,
What you have done in memory of Maria is incredible. I lost my 14 year old special needs daughter in April (played 2 of SCC songs with slide show at her visitation - so appropriate THANK YOU) Trying to figure out how to honor her memory, so admire what you have done. Thank you for being such a witness and loving the special needs children.

Dear Mary Beth,
What blessings were bestowed on those children in China! God indeed was in China, through both Teams who put a lot of work and effort into MBHOH. I am sure that Maria is smiling down from Heaven, just knowing that children who would otherwise be abandoned, actually have somewhere to go, thanks to Show's Hope. This is truly what it's all about!
You mentioned how hard it was to get back to the mundane everyday tasks (stuff) that needed to be taken care of-after having an experience such as what you and your family had, I can truly understand why it was so tough getting back to reality.
That's usually the way I feel after coming home from a retreat-first of all, you never want to leave, and secondly, you wish it would last forever!

Mary Beth,
Thanks again for sharing your treasured thoughts and pictures. It is an amazing sight to witness, through pictures, God's people at work with the teeniest, tiniest "of these." I cannot thank you enough for bringing me on this journey with you; you are certainly one of the most unselfish people I know.
Praying for God's blessings as you continue on this "Great Adventure,"
Michele

You have poured out your heart out in China. You have included each of us in that effort. One thing that tends to get folks off balance is to come home and see the amount of wasted cash and time spent on material things.
Keep sharing the story of God and His desire for us to care for Orphans and widows (and the needing world in general).
I praise God for what He is doing in your heart. It is the roots of your family, the honesty of heart, the desire to seek His face, the faces of the children, the urging of Holy Spirit, and our responsibility to care that God uses to get into a portion of funds that flow thru our house.
Thank you and I hope you get to take that road trip,
Sandy B

In reference to your Tweet, praying for your sleep to be sweet...that you'd lie down in peace. Father, restore and refresh and renew. Revive this precious sister and her family as they sleep...

Looking at your twitter message, have a safe and warm night. Hoping SCC and the boys got out of town before all the nasty weather hit! My husband's driving home from Knoxville as I speak; directly INTO all the yuck! :( Have a restful night's sleep. :)
We're about to get whacked hard here in Brentwood! My kids are already in my bed! Eek! :D

Welcome home safely!! I'm sure that there is a lot to emotionally digest on many levels. Many prayers and hugs for you and your family.
How I wish I could go love on those babies and maybe bring one home. Thank you for sharing the love. :O)

(((Mary Beth)))
First, welcome home and praise God for His protection, provision, and favour!
These pictures are so beautiful...what kind of word is that to convey what I SEE when I look at them?? I SEE Jesus in each one -- in these precious wee ones and in each team member. And...I've gotta say, I SEE quite a few "connections" in some of their eyes :)
Felt compelled today to listen to Audio Adrenaline -- Hands & Feet and Big House. How appropriate for today.
One other song that has been burning inside my heart these last 2 or 3 days has been Nicole Nordeman's, Held. Yes...this is what it means to be held when the sacred is torn from our lives and we survive.
You are surviving precious sister...as MUCH MORE than a conqueror. I LOVE the Jesus I see in your tender, broken eyes. Thank you is too small, but thank you anyway for letting Jesus hold you and heal you, and hold and heal THROUGH you.
You are loved,

Beautiful babies. Beautiful people who were there to love on them and show them hope.
God's blessings to all. Thanks for taking us along with you on this journey. It has touched my heart.
And as I look at these beautiful little ones, I hold my beautiful Chinese girls a little closer - and am so grateful there were those who cared for them along the way.
Hugs to all of you.

Hope you're all able to adjust to the culture shock of being back here.

These sweet babies just want and need someone to love them. The picture located in the third row and six down of a woman in a green tank top with the baby sleeping on her chest just moved me. This sweet baby is content and feeling the love that is being given to him/her. I love what Show Hope is doing in China. We too love the country even more so after adopting our sweet baby girl three years ago. These people are all still prescious in His sight and these sweet little babies are so blessed to have Show Hope in their lives. Thank you so much for all of the updates.
Hugs and glad you are feeling a bit better.

I know what you mean. So hard to figure out when you come back from China why we care so much about the trivial things here. When we came back from China with Grace the hardest adjustment was not dealing with a traumatized child, but dealing with life here and how it would never be the same. And it hasn't been the same. I am praying about your perplexity as I am still praying about how God wants us involved with China. We know a second adoption is in the works, but I feel that it is more than that. Now I am wondering if Show Hope is suppose to be a part of that? Praying you sleep...
Still praying,
Paige

Sophie Joy adores Jim Chapman and just saw the picture with Rufa and asked if we could adopt him. We prayed for him and asked God to show us who do adopt and when. Sophie loves looking at any and all pics of China and these were especially touching for her to see. Blessings

Oh, Mary Beth! I want to go so badly- I taught special ed before my kids were born, so Maria's House is exactly where my heart is. But God has chosen another path for me, and that includes a degenerative nerve disease that is quickly taking my ability to walk.
I see those pictures, particularly of the little girl that is so stiff, and it just rips my heart out, I had so wanted to adopt one of those beautiful little girls.
But, since that is not the path that God has chosen for me, I can pray for YOU holding those beautiful children, and pray that the Lord will let them feel my love coming through you.
Much love (and many tears!),
Janele

Mary Beth,
Glad your home & had a safe trip. Thank you for letting us be apart of your journey to China & at home.

New opportunities, new faces and new hopes await!
Can't wait to see what God is going to do through you...but also for you...I can't help but believe a surprise gift awaits!

Welcome home Mary Beth! It was wonderful following your journey and to watch MBHH come to life through your posts and pictures. I hope your jet-lag eases quickly and that you settle back into daily life with your family peacefully.
With hope,

Hope you can take today at a slow pace... perhaps even a nap.
Wish I'd been part of your trip.
SEEing her flower in that incredible place was so special.
Why was your b.p. up? That's concerning.
Love to you all~

Marybeth,
My name is Kristen, I am 17. I just got back from Cambodia and I also was jet lag! It is not the most pleasurable thing. I just wanted to tell you that MBHOH looks amazing. God has really blessed you with this ministry. It really hits home to me how much you love China. I am the same way with Cambodia. I plan to move there in the summer of next year. I want to work with the children and youth. I hope God will revel to you all the wonderful miracles that will take place because of MBHOH. It looks to me hat God is going to do some awesome things. God is really working amongst all nations. Which is part of God's vision that every tribe and nation will be joined by one common element... Jesus Christ. Let's break down some barriers.
God Bless the Nations! Take care Marybeth.
