Honoring Veterans
Hear the New Song By Steven Curtis Chapman, “Thomas McBride”
Two Fridays ago Steven met Corpsman Thomas McBride. He had been wounded in action in Afghanistan and tragically had lost part of his leg. Steven was deeply moved by this man and the sacrifice he had made for this country. In response and with gratitude to Corpsman McBride and all who have served America, Steven penned a new song, “Thomas McBride.” It’s Steven’s great privilege, that this song was delivered this week to Corspman McBride by the President of the United States, George W Bush.
On this week that marks Veterans Day 2008, we pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the men and women who in defense of our freedom have bravely worn the uniform of the United States. To mark the week, Steven is making available, via streaming audio, this simple demo he recorded of the new song.
What a touching and beautiful song. I hope that is available on a future CD.
Thank you, Jim for sharing.
Thank you, SCC for reminding us to pray for the heroes who serve for our freedom!

Through all his pain this year SCC still puts other people first... you know GOD is working and has such LOVE for SCC to share!
My hope is SCC gets some serious downtime during the holidays to just chill, RELAX and enjoy family and friends!!

As a military wife,I have a particular love for those that draw attention to our troops.
I'm learning that heroes are made in the everyday choices... choices to focus on the positives, and press on.
We can pray for Thomas & others who are struggling to make those decisions while in pain. The Chapman's have continued to make God honoring choices, being fabulous examples. I'll be praying for them in those dark, lonely moments when the choices are hardest.

What a beautiful tribute to Corpman McBride and all those who are serving or who have served in the military forces of our great nation. Well done, Steven.
Peace,
Teresa

Thank you! This song has meant so much to me as the daughter, granddaughter, sister-in-law of veterans. It has turned Veterans' Day into Veterans' Week for me.
