We are all orphans adopted into the family of Christ...I always knew that, but I never grasped the depth of it until we started our own adoption process this past Summer. What an indescribable blessing! Thanks to the groups you mentioned, Jim, and prayers for all that will hear and be touched.

Being adopted myself when I was just a few days old... I can tell you the BEST gift I was ever given to this day was my family... It's always funny the reaction people give you when you tell them your adopted, even in this day and age... it's a surprised OH REALLY! For those bloggers that have adpoted, I say THANK YOU and enjoy your gift of life!
BLESSINGS

Hi Anne:)
God's portrait of adoption is so perfect.
As a Mama to five children, three of whom I've loved through the journey of adoption, it is I who cry out to God, time and again, with praise and thanksgiving.

A very worthy cause.

that's amazing because last night as I watched the one show I love to watch (Extreme Makeover Home Edition), the family that got the new home had adopted 8 children: 5 from Haiti and 3 from the inner city. I was blown away. As a person who already knows that I am part of God's plan for the orphan, I was so encouraged (and emotional) last night.
Thanks for sharing.

have you heard the song "prayer of the children"? i heard it played as background for a slide show we did with pictures from trips to orphanages in bulgaria. wow! it is an incredible song and well-done. written about children affected by war but was very appropriate for our purposes as well. check it out!

For the first ten minutes, I thought the title was "Oprah Awareness Campaign In High Gear This Week" and wondered how that had anything to do with orphans and the Cry of the Orphan organization. I kept re-reading the post thinking that maybe SCC will be on Oprah or something. Anyway, uh...I see it now :D

This is so wonderful! I can't wait to hear all the broadcasts. I went through the "Cry of the Orphan link" and found a interview of Emily, Caleb, Steven, and Mary Beth about their first adoption and how Emily as a fifth grader advocated for the whole process for her parents until it finally became a reality with the adoption of Shohannah. It is called "The Fifth Grader" and it is at nuclearity.org. Jim is there any way you can make a link to it? Everyone needs to hear it!
