Sequence Set

Thursday was the final mastering day of THIS MOMENT. Once recording is complete, Steven and his team, particularly the A&R guy Brad and SCC, have to set the sequence for the album. This is harder than it looks. There really is an art to it, and perhaps it's an art that is overlooked in this MP3 player day and age.

It could change slightly between now and when you get it. And a song title may tweak before October 23rd but... Here's THIS MOMENT, at the moment : )
1. Miracle of the Moment
2. Broken
3. Cinderella
4. Yours
5. Something Crazy
6. One Heartbeat
7. Children of God
8. My Surrender
9. You Are being Loved
10. Definition of Me
11. With One Voice

Wait a minute...I thought there were going to be 14 tracks! I guess 3 got cut? Or perhaps I misread something?

Yey i thought their were 14 tracks, but what i have heard sounds amazing.

yea 14 was mentioned earlier I guess they jumped the gun. I was psyched to get 14 though that would have been awesome.

Friends, very observant of you. Yes on the May 28th post http://chapmanchannel.typepad.com/jim/2007/05/my_copy.html I did mention 14 tracks. But I also say... "14 songs were completed and on the cd in my possession pictured here. Now the discussion begins... Include all of them? If we cut, how many and which ones? Stay tuned."

It's a complex issue, but to break it down simply for you, Steven's record contract works best when there are 10 tracks that are part of the album. Lengthy discussions regarding the 11th or the so far unused proposed 12th, 13th and 14th tracks were had. In the end, the final decision by EMI was to go with these 11 cuts for the wide album launch on October 23rd.

(If this disappoints you, don't be disappointed. I can't say anything else other than to give you this hint, go back and re-read that last sentence carefully)

Hummm....I see this to mean that a CD may be released at some point with previously unreleased songs...WOW! Wouldn't that be a wonderful treasure! I remember a survey that came out sometime last year and that was one of the options that they gave. That really would be awesome. 14 tracks is best but I would take 11 anyday or whatever the final number of songs for this album is going to be. One thing's for certain...I can't wait until the moment that this new album is going to be released!!!!
