Sarasota Showing Hope!

As I mentioned in my blog yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to speak in Sarasota, Florida today! I spoke at an orphan care event and I was so encouraged by Sarasota's passion to care for the millions of children living without a mother or father! In the picture with me is my co-worker, Wendy Cosby, on the left, and my good friend, Deb Gangemi, on the right! Deb coordinated the event in Sarasota! Her passion to follow hard after God's mandate to care for orphans and widows (James 1:27) is so inspiring. During my time spent in Sarasota (which is a BEAUTIFUL city if you ever have the chance to visit) I was encouraged and excited as others began to catch the vision and the passion to be the physical hands and feet of Jesus Christ to those hurting in our world today! To God be all the glory for what He began and accomplished at the Sarasota event!

Sounds like everything went wonderfully. That's very good. It's amazing to see what people with a passion and a heart for God can do to change the lives of orphans! God is truly at work in our community.

I am so happy for you and the work that you are doing! Sounds like things went fine!!

Hey when are you guys gonna come down to Australia?? :)

Sounds like it went amazing! :D

That is a great picture! Do you travel with a professional photographer?

Emily,
You never cease to amaze me.

To God be the glory indeed.

Sounds like it was awesome!! My name is Anastacia, I'm 15, and I am the creator of the video "Orphans of God". I believe it was shown at the beginning of the event. I was not able to attend (although I so wish I would have been!!!) but due to living in Illinois, it would have been a pretty long trip. ;) I've been praying that the whole event went great, and it definitely sounds like it was amazing!! Thanks so much for everything that you do!

Hi Emily, You don't know me but I stumbled onto your blog today and this entry caught my eye because Wendy has faithfully and patiently answered my many e-mail over the past two years as we have sought to adopt again (and moved to Chile as full-time missionaries in the process!) It is so nice to have a face to go with the name. Thank you for your passion for orphan care and may God continue to richly bless and direct you in this new season of life!
