Caleb,
I have to tell you that a friend and I were at the Tulsa concert last night. I got a chance to talk with Will Franklin during the intermission, but didn't get a chance to speak with you... but wanted to:)
This may get a little long winded but I don't know if Will mentioned to you what I had said to him.
First off, I have been praying for you all since the day Maria went to be with Jesus. You all have been so heavy on my heart. I checked Jim Howser's blog daily just to check how you all were and see what to pray for. The family interview with Larry King was amazing.
Anyways, I tell you all of that just to let you know how God used you all in an amazing way to help prepare me for the loss of our son Samuel last fall. I had no idea that just 5 months later I would go through the deepest valley and pain in my life this far. It was the day after my due date and he just quit moving. Samuel was stillborn the next morning. Our family was able to spend 5 amazing hours with him. We, (my husband, myself, and our four other children) were devastated. But, having seen you all grieve Maria is a real, honest, brutal, healthy, way and still being firm and steadfast in your faith has helped and encouraged me greatly, more than you could know.
There are still many REALLY tough days, especially as we will celebrate Samuel's one year birthday with Jesus this Friday. I know you know, it can be a very up and down journey.
I just wanted to encourage you also by telling you that God is using you all. He is using your family to encourage others to persevere through great trial. Continue to share your story. Maria was so precious, and God is continueing to use her sweet little life... through all you and your family share and through Maria's Big House of Hope.
I also just had to tell you your show was great... wish you all would have played longer:) You are both so talented. Your story about the painting was just what I needed to hear as we head into this week of Samuel's birthday. Thank you for sharing that. When my heart is hurting, I know I need to keep my eyes on eternity and the full beautiful picture that will be revealed then. I can't wait for the new EP to be on your website so I can get them for our family:) Keep playing and singing Caleb, God is going to use you to do great things for the kingdom.
Watch for some donations given in my son's memory at Show HOPE. (I know you work there, I was able to talk with your precious wife last fall when we had people give to Shaohannah's hope in Lieu of flowers for Samuel's memorial. Our family has a heart for adoption. This is a whole other story but, We actually had a 15 year old pregnant girl living with us this past summer. She wanted us to adopt here baby, (we were thrilled) but that baby too went to be with Jesus just 3 months before He was due. We are still praying the Lord would bless us with a child through adoption soon.) and my sweet friend is running a marathon and having a big chili cookoff in LA in memory of Samuel and to raise Money for Show Hope on November 7th.
Sorry for getting long winded... Wish I could have just said it all in person last night:) I just wanted to share that with you, I hope it encourages you in your journey. you.
Blessings on the rest of your tour:) I continue to lift your family up to our Great God... He is sovereign... and makes no mistakes...
Continually clinging to the great Healer of our hearts...
Sara

I didn't know why God placed the Chapman family on my heart the last two days...but I just prayed. I prayed that God may give you the spirit and wisdom to know Him better. and give you the power The same power that raised Christ up to heaven. May you have that power today. May God give you power of knowing that you are alive with Christ.
I pray that your Spirit will be renewed. Well when I decided to look up your website I found out that it was your Dads BIRTHDAY..Well God has placed you on my heart to pray for you. If you have a place where you place your prayer request let me know. I will keep you in my prayers

Thanks for giving your life to God and Letting him use you...may God renew your Spirit and Hope Daily...or minute by minute,
I will continue to pray for you that you may continue to have a heart that God can use and mold into the beautiful person that he has you. Keep your eyes on Jesus the author and perfector of your faith. He will make your faith and your life perfect.
