uh oh
Well, caleb here just a bloggin. The picture you see here is the most recent problem in my life. Here is how the story goes... I was ironing my fairly wrinkled pants for the show tonight . I had finished one leg and laid the iron down flat, or I knocked it over without knowing it, on a nice coffee table in the church, as I raised the iron from its comfortably heated position on the desk this monster revealed itself. If you know what feeling legitamately dumb is like than you can relate to how I felt when this happened. All the billing issues are still being sorted out, so ill let you know when I know how that turns out. Well if you feel like to, you may pity me or write me a letter of encouragement to raise my degraded spirits, it would be much appreciated. 'til next time

aw, that sucks so bad. I'm so sorry. If it makes you feel any better I did that on my carpet once, let's just say when my mom found out it wasn't pretty. I'm sure everything will work out, it was just a mistake. Good luck and keep your spirits light.

Ah don't sweat it kid. That could have happened to anyone. I'm no expert on such matters, but I would think that a good carpenter would know how to rid the table of that sort of mark. Hopefully no one will make a big deal out of it. If they do, I vote you blame dad. Tell them that he was aiming for you and missed. You'll get instant sympathy. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Don't know if this helps but...about 7 or 8 years old. Running around after dinner, my sister's playing guitar. I trip, fall into her lap...elbow goes straight through my dad's Gibson! Dad walks in...'nuff said.
We all make mistakes. Hopefully lessons can be learned from them (I have forevermore been extra-careful around nice guitars!)

Happens to the best of us, Caleb. That's why I decided long ago to leave the ironing to the girls. They consider the lack of property damage a pretty fair trade. ;)

Wow - YOU IRON!! I'm soooo impressed! If that were my table, I would just be honored that you'd left your mark. ;-) After all, it's just a table! Just tell them all, "If you think I'm good with an iron, you should see me with an orbital sander!" I'm sure they'll forgive you and take a pass! hehe

Aw, don't feel dumb...I'm pretty sure irons play nasty little tricks on everyone! I aviod them as much as possible! I toasted a pair of basketball shorts once...since then I've decided that a few little wrinkles never hurt anyone! lol God bless, and thanks for the fun stories. They brighten my day. :)

Feel free to come burn my table, we need a new one anyway. =] Don't feel dumb though, we all make mistakes, it's part of what makes us unique children of God.

hola Caleb!, oh well my words of encouragement: I am an exachange students and I allready burned the counter in the kitchen ( my host family already fixed it), also last month(january) I descovered that the clorox bottle was liking inside the cabinet in the bathroom... brrrr it messed up the paint. AWFUL!! and the next week, I was tryng to put a towel in the cabinet and my foot moved a little ceramic that holds the toilet paper and it broke!! NICE!!...I fixed it with crazy glue!!..
So, see this examples and they will make you feel much better! hahhaha.. by the way... my host family still loves me, even thought I am messy!! :o)

Bonjour, Caleb!! Just wanted to let you know that you're already quite proficient at "leaving your mark in the world", without resorting to burning down the tables, hee hee!! I hope it wasn't too expensive :)
Praying for you and your family. You're in our thoughts!!

See, that's why I don't get anywhere near irons. ;)
That, and the fact that people don't trust me with them....
Silly mistakes aside, thanks for the story!

Reminds me of the time my sister was pressing something on my parents bed...and burned the bedspread. After mom replaced the spread she decided the curtains really didn't match so they had to be replaced too. Then the color on the walls didn't quite go so the room had to be repainted...I don't think mom was too upset by all the redecorating but dad definately was NOT a happy human!

HAH!!!
I actually did something like that once- at our teen camp I set the iron down on the carpet, and after the smoke alarms went off and everyone was mad at me I found out I left a nice little mark in the middle of the room. Whoops!!!

Don't worry. It's ok. We advise you though to stay away from coffe tables and irons. They don't mix.

Do not feel bad. While we were at youth camp a friend of my knocked over her iron and burned a iron shaped whole in the carpet. Yep you guessed it the carpet stuck to the iron when she pulled it up. HMMM, I think a table burn might be easier and cheaper to fix than a room of carpet.

Hey to your credit you WERE ironing pants!! That's a lot more than most of us can say! Take it all to Jesus Caleb! John 16:33 says: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." It'll be okay - I promise! ; D
